Building a SaaS to $10k MRR in 12 Months
I'm setting a public goal: build a SaaS to $10k MRR in 12 months. Starting from zero.
In this first episode, I introduce myself and lay out exactly what I'm attempting. I'm a software developer with 15+ years of experience, I run Laravel Magazine, write for PHP Architect, and I love my day job. But I also can't stop building things on the side.
The problem? None of my projects have made any real money yet. QueueWatch is launched — zero paying customers. LeadSprout is in beta. My current MRR is exactly $0.
So why announce this publicly? Because building in public creates accountability. Because documenting the journey forces clearer thinking. And because I think there's value in showing the messy reality of going from zero to something, not just the highlight reel.
In this episode
- Why I'm chasing $10k MRR (and why it has nothing to do with quitting my job)
- What I'm building: LeadSprout, QueueWatch, and the strategy behind each
- The underrated advantages of building as a side project
- Why starting from $0 is actually the most honest starting line
If you're building something on the side, thinking about starting, or just curious what this journey looks like from the inside — this is episode one. Let's see where it goes.
